SL Designs was started in 1997 by me, Sam Lin, as a passion for the internet. My first experience on the internet started on a 28.8K internet connection, but nonetheless, it was my first step onto the information highway. My first personal web site was hosted on Geocities with contents on the things I thought was interesting. As technology evolved over the years, I had access to a broadband connection at home, a 3000/500 cable connection. It was then that opened up my knowledge to the immense information available online and found tips and tools for creating a better web site. I am a self-taught computer designer/technician, from HTML coding to advanced computer knowledge on security and troubleshooting. Other than web/graphic design and desktop publishing, I also have experience in programming in Basic, C++ and knowledge of Java, PHP, and ASP (latter two being self-taught). Experiences in high school include taking two computer programming courses, one web designing course, and two desktop publishing courses. I plan to enter post-secondary education in the field of information technology and pursue a career in software development or the IT industry.
