Prepping for “The Trip”

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 :: 1:19 am

I’ll be starting my long-dreamed trip to Europe tomorrow! It will be a good way to end off university life with 7 other of my friends. I am excited! (it didn’t sink in till tonight, since I still had an exam!) We’ll be backpacking for just under a month till May 21st!

Will be bringing a 60L backpack as well as my photo gears. I hope that I will have some time each night to process some of the photos as I go along, so stay tuned to the blog! :-D

See you across the Atlantic! :-)

A very small portion of what I’ll be bringing on the trip…

Sun Run 2009

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 :: 12:58 pm

The annual Vancouver Sun Run is back this year on Apr. 20th! It’s the 25th year since it first started, and it’s my 10th consecutive year running the 10km! It’s an amazing run with live bands playing as you job through the park and the streets of Vancouver with 55k+ others!

I did slightly better than last year and just a few seconds slower than my personal best this year at just over an hour, though my right ankle felt kinda funny halfway in… The run actually goes by faster than you think, a walker can easily finish within an hour and a half!

Every time I go I feel like I just have to take photos since the view of 50,000+ people on the streets is amazing. It’s the first time that I brought a camera, since this time it’s actually compact enough to hold, unlike a SLR ;-)

Landing on White

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009 :: 11:44 pm

This is always the first cherry tree that blossoms around my house, so when it pops out of its buds I know that it’s cherry season in Vancouver. This year it’s actually been quite late compared to previous years.

The sakura trees are in full blossom now! It’s also finals period.. so likely not many photos of it from me this year…
