I’m late with processing these photos from Wednesday’s fireworks show, mostly because the weather has been quite unbearable for the past week – it was 30+ degrees in my room and I couldn’t really do or think much. Good thing that the weather has cooled down over the past few days, otherwise I’d be roasted!
So Wednesday night was UK’s turn to light up the sky with their show themed “Parasols Over the Pacific”. I brought a FM radio player with me but I forgot that they had changed the radio station this year! I learned that the fireworks are just not the same without music (it helps with anticipating the fireworks too). Me and a couple of friends decided to change vantage points and shoot the show from Burrard Bridge. I thought that the bridge was much closer to the barge, but it was still quite a distance away – you certainly don’t get that “in-your-face” fireworks effect as you do when you are right at English Bay. I thought the fireworks was mediocre, though I’ve heard differently, saying that it was very different from the other shows.
China’s fireworks is on tonight for the last show this year, if you haven’t seen any of the shows live yet, I encourage you to go!
