    nice pix! What kind of camera were you using?
    When I was in Ontario the same conditions occured but we had gray owls and the were to three feet high as well.

    Thanks! I was using a Canon 7D + 70-200mm f/4 IS. Nothing like what the protogs were using that day, most had 500mm+ lenses.

    The owls at Boundary Bay are actually quite close so you can see them even without any binoculars.
