2008 HSBC Celebration of Light – Finale

Monday, August 4th, 2008 :: 10:45 am

A spectacular finish to the fireworks this year! Canada won and sure showed the rest of the pack what amazing things you can do by coordinating spot-on with the music. We <3 Canada!

The show started off with 8 minutes of fireworks presented by BC150, highlighting the history of our province, then the three countries followed by blasting the English Bay sky. A perfect weather night with small wind.

I went back to my small aperture and long shutter setting, seems to work well :-)

    nicky: Let me know where you posted it :-)

    Alex & Vicky W: Thanks! I found that I was most successful with the long shutter from previous years!

    LOL, that’s what Rufi said about my borders too, she recognized it from somewhere else, I think that’s like…ugly or something, haha

    it dawned on me half way through these pics that you had used extended exposure (did i say that right?) so that you could superimposed many fireworks in the same picture so that it can look fuller – did i guess right?

    some amazing shots.

    Yes, that was a technique which I tried a while ago and it works quite well, better than what they say of 2-5 seconds! Thanks!
