Dine Out Vancouver 2011 – CinCin
Friday, February 4th, 2011 :: 9:20 pm
CinCin Ristorante + Bar – 1154 Robson Street, Vancouver – January 27, 7:00pm
Price per person: $38
I’ve actually been to CinCin quite a few years ago. I remember back then the menu was $35, but I wasn’t really impressed with the dine out food, even though there was sort of a hype around the restaurant being quite good. I went back again this time because several other friends hadn’t tried it before.
Below is my selection:
Appetizer: POLPO wood grilled tofino octopus, chorizo sausage saffron potatoes and salsa verde
Entrée: WOOD SPIT ROASTED PORK RACK pork cheek raviolo, pearl onions and leeks garlic puree, heirloom carrots and agrodolce reduction
Dessert: TIRAMISU house made lady fingers soaked in kahlua and espresso with mascarpone
I did mention last time that bread is a big thing that I look forward to, but CinCin’s was quite hard, and the spread tasted pretty normal. However, I really liked the appetizer. Quite a bit more octopus than I had imagined. Yum! Next was the entrée, which I thought was a bit dry. Maybe I’m just not a pork kind of guy, but I also think it could’ve used a bit more complementing sides. The tiramisu for dessert was a nice finish in quite a different cup (that you can eat!). Overall, I didn’t think it was worth totally worth the price we paid, but another good meal with friends :-)
I give 7/10.
